The Citadella is located at one of Budapest's most iconic spots, on top of Gellért Hill. It can be reached by public transport via bus (27 – Búsuló Juhász) or tram (19, 41, 56, 56A – Rudas Spa) to the foot of the hill, followed by a short and pleasant walk.
The developed walking paths starting from Gellért Square or Tabán are ideal. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning views and take a break at the Liberty Café or with a refreshing chimney cake ice cream.
During the renovations, accessible paths have been created in several sections, making the Citadella increasingly accessible to a wider range of visitors.
From the Citadella, one of Budapest's most complete panoramas unfolds: the Danube, Parliament, Buda Castle, the bridges and downtown Pest are all visible.
