Beyond a souvenir
A piece of Budapest

LIBERTY GIFT SHOP

The Citadella and Liberty gift shops redefine the souvenir experience, moving away from mass-produced items towards a premium, value-driven selection. Our philosophy is built on meaning, functionality and exceptional quality, offering durable everyday objects and “wearable quality” apparel designed to become a natural part of daily life. The core of our range consists of in-house developed thematic collections that bring to life some of the most exciting chapters of Hungarian history and culture.

Visitors can choose from pieces inspired by Budapest’s golden age, featuring Hungarian Art Nouveau motifs, or explore the world of the hussar tradition, reinterpreted through artistic graphics and modern streetwear.

We also place special emphasis on the city’s most beloved symbols. Our selection includes references to two iconic favourites: the nostalgic yellow carriages of the Budapest Metro, and the playful, street-food-inspired “Lángos Lovers” collection, blending humour with contemporary style.

The spirit of the location is brought to life through uniquely designed objects inspired by the iconic silhouette of the Liberty Statue, while our lion-themed brand, built around the city’s coat of arms, appeals to both adults and children. For adults, it reflects minimalist elegance, while for younger visitors, the collection centres around Buddy, the friendly lion.

Our gastronomic selection features the finest products of renowned Hungarian artisan producers, from handcrafted chocolates to noble paprika. We also pay tribute to local craftsmanship traditions through unique creations by well-known Hungarian designers, including leather goods, ceramics and glassware. Our goal is that every item found in our gift shops becomes a true representation of Hungarian identity and the Budapest lifestyle.
