A Pawsome Christmas at the Citadella – Festive Adventures on Two Legs and Four Paws
From 11 to 23 December 2026, dogs can join in the Christmas countdown at the Citadella. Daily surprises, a festive photo spot, a discovery game and special activities await dogs and their humans, with panoramic views over Budapest.
The most memorable moments of the festive season are the ones we share. A walk together, a thoughtful surprise or a photo that still makes us smile years later. This December, your furry family members can be part of those memories too: a Pawsome Christmas is coming to the Citadella!
Between 11 and 23 December, swap your usual walking route for a visit to the Citadella. Whether you stop by for an afternoon outing or join one of our scheduled activities, you’ll find plenty to explore together as Christmas approaches.
A Surprise Every Day
What’s hiding behind the next window of our Advent calendar? Each day, a new gift awaits a lucky winner – and you could be taking it home!
To enter the daily game, make a purchase above the announced spending threshold at the venue. The lucky winner gets to open that day’s window and discover the surprise waiting inside with their four-legged friend.
A Christmas Photo with the Whole Family
Photographing dogs has a charm of its own: a curious look, a tilted head or a paw appearing unexpectedly in the frame can be more memorable than the most carefully planned pose.

Discover the Citadella Together
Turn your walk into an adventure with our stamp collection game. Visit the stations, collect the stamps and drop your completed card into Santa’s postbox to enter the grand prize draw.
A Handmade Gift for Your Dog
Join our dog tag making workshops on 11 and 18 December. Choose from colours and decorations to design a unique tag that suits your dog’s personality. It’s a thoughtful, personal Christmas gift that can accompany them on everyday walks.

Festive Outfits and Wagging Tails
On 19 December, the spotlight turns to the contestants in our Christmas dog outfit competition. Bring out your dog’s festive look: the winner will receive a gift package.
Advance registration is required, so save the date if you and your dog would like to show off their Christmas outfit!
Live acoustic music will accompany the weekend festivities, adding a warm soundtrack to your walk and shared activities.
We’ll show off our best outfit too — count us in!
Remembering Dogs Still Waiting for a Home
Throughout Pawsome Christmas, we’ll also be collecting donations for animal shelters. We want the care and kindness of the season to reach dogs who are still waiting for a loving home. Each day, we’ll share the story of a dog available for adoption. We hope these introductions will help them find their future families – and perhaps someone will discover their newest family member along the way.
