Spend August 20th above Budapest, with the Citadella’s breathtaking panorama, music and a cosy picnic atmosphere! From early afternoon until the fireworks, we’ll welcome you with a diverse musical programme, delicious food and special drinks.
Celebrate the holiday above Budapest and enjoy the unique panorama accompanied by music! Have a picnic in the renewed park, with delicious food and drinks also available for purchase on site! From early afternoon until the evening fireworks, we’ll welcome you with a colourful musical programme for all ages and a wonderful atmosphere.
Programme of the festive event
- 15:00–16:00: Pepita band concert for children at the Northern Lookout Terrace.
- 16:00 – 20:00 | Acoustic street music: At two locations – the Northern Lookout Terrace and the terrace of Citadella Café – talented singers and musicians will provide the perfect musical backdrop for your festive picnic.

- 20:00 – 21:00 | Sunset DJ set: As sunset approaches, DJ Krecsmarik Ricsi takes over the terrace of Citadella Café. His lounge and chill-style set will set the perfect mood for the fireworks.
- 21:00 – 21:30 | Festive fireworks: Following the musical programme, guests can enjoy the August 20th fireworks from the lookout terraces.
The Citadella’s culinary offering will also feature special flavours for the festive day. Both Cakes of Hungary will be available to taste here among the first, alongside our own speciality, the Citadella Cake.
For a more substantial bite, a variety of freshly prepared sandwiches will be available: alongside crispy chicken and pulled meat baguettes, guests can choose from homemade egg salad and körözött sandwiches. Those looking for warm dishes can enjoy caprese, grilled ham and mozzarella panini, and homemade cheese scones.
The drinks menu also features signature drinks, including the Liberty Spritz made with Tokaji Aszú, as well as cocktail specialities based on Historia Gin. The selection is completed by carefully selected wines from renowned Hungarian wineries and Budapest Sör’s craft lager.
